Our Construction Litigation Department’s Large Exposure, Catastrophe and Event Response team represents clients in the immediate investigation of serious accidents and catastrophes around the country. Each member of the team holds an OSHA 30 certificate and is trained in emergency response, and we have successfully conducted more than 250 investigations in the past five years alone. Our team also played a key role in the aftermath of the 9/11 disaster, ultimately defending a key client in more than 10,000 lawsuits and leading the Steering Committee with respect to the World Trade Center Disaster labor law and exposure litigation.
Experienced, Strategic and Immediate Response to Large-Scale Catastrophes
Our Large Exposure, Catastrophe and Event Response team has significant experience responding to construction-related accidents involving deaths, bodily injuries, toxic releases, fires, floods, explosions, and terror attacks. We coordinate with city and state agencies and the media to promptly mitigate our clients’ exposure, and we work closely with our clients’ project teams to help secure the areas or contain the issues involved. We also work closely with our clients’ senior leadership to develop preemptive action plans going forward, and we maintain close coordination through the completion of the response.
During catastrophic event response investigations, we prioritize ensuring site and team safety, preserving the attorney-client privilege, and collecting the evidence necessary to protect our clients and secure the best possible result in subsequent litigation. Clients have unrestricted, 24/7 access to a dedicated team of attorneys, experts, forensic photographers and investigators, and we can quickly deploy all resources necessary to protect our clients’ financial interests and public reputations.
