What made you interested in law as a Career?
Before pursuing law school, I have tried out different career paths; I interned in politics, I worked in finance, I studied marketing. What ultimately led me to go into law is the opportunities that come with a law degree. No matter what industry interests you, with a law degree, you can work in that industry. For example, I knew I liked finance, though I did not know specifically what I wanted to do in finance, but working towards my law degree and being at Cullen and Dykman LLP has given me the opportunity be a part of all sorts of areas of finance, from bankruptcy to private equity. Plus, I have had the opportunity to explore new industries I would not have been exposed to had I not been here, like higher education and non-profit work.
What is your favorite thing to do outside of work?
I like to hang out with my friends and family, work out, and play with my dogs. In the years between college and law school I was part of a Baltimore City field hockey league; I am hoping to join a NYC field hockey league in the future!
What have you enjoyed most about Cullen and Dykman’s program so far?
I like that I have been exposed to a variety of practice areas. Although I came in here with an idea of what I would like to practice, my favorite part has been trying a little bit of everything and seeing new practice areas I am interested in. Additionally, everybody at the firm has been so welcoming and kind, which is also one of the most enjoyable parts.
What academic/professional achievement are you most proud of?
The professional achievement I am most proud of was earning my Series 7 and Series 66 licenses. I became licensed while working at T. Rowe Price before law school. A lot of what I have learned in studying for these exams helped me in not only a variety of law school classes, but even assignments here at Cullen and Dykman LLP!

What advice do you have for prospective Summer Associates/Fellows?
Use the summer to your advantage by trying as many practice areas as you can. While law school offers different electives, it is incomparable to the experience you get from trying different assignments. There likely will not be another time in your life like this, where you get to try a variety of things out and see what you like and don’t like.
