George Cognard is a 2024 Summer Associate in the firm’s Long Island office. George recently completed his second year at St. John’s University School of Law where he was a Staff Member of the New York International Law Review. He graduated from the University of Florida Warrington College of Business in 2022 cum laude with a B.A. in Business Administration.

What made you interested in law as a Career?
I took Business Law in college and really enjoyed it. I became a TA and it opened my eyes to the field of law.
What is your favorite thing to do outside of work?
Hanging out with friends, family, and watching sports.
What have you enjoyed most about Cullen and Dykman’s program so far?
Everyone has been so nice and helpful. I get to work on a lot of different things with different people, which helps to gauge my interests for the future.
What academic/professional achievement are you most proud of?
Graduating from a college I have wanted to go to since they won the national championship in football in 2008.

What advice do you have for prospective Summer Associates/Fellows?
Don’t be afraid to ask questions and get out of your comfort zone. So many people have been in your shoes, and they are willing to lend a helping hand.
