Book Review by Attorney Michael H. Traison Published in Justice

Michael H. Traison, a partner in Cullen and Dykman’s Bankruptcy group. In addition to his work in commercial law Traison is a member of the board of governors of the IAJLJ and was recently featured in Justice, the legal magazine of the International Association of Jewish Lawyers and Jurists, where his book review of The Fight for Justice: Lee Kreindler and Lockerbie by Ruth Kreindler and Chris Angermann was published. In his review, Michael discusses Lee S. Kreindler, a trailblazer in aviation accident law who played a pivotal role in representing victims of major airline disasters and challenging liability limits under the Warsaw Convention. The book, co-authored by Kreindler’s widow, Ruth, chronicles his tireless pursuit of justice for the 1988 Lockerbie bombing victims and the emotional and financial burdens of personal injury law.

Michael, an American Israeli, has practiced law for over four decades.  He has undergraduate and graduate degrees in history, with a particular focus on the history of Jews in Poland and Europe. Prior to being admitted to the bar, he taught history in the U.S. and Canada. His parents were child refugees from the Pogroms in the Pale of Settlement. Traison has been a member of the IAJLJ since the late 1980s and is the executive vice president of its American affiliate, the AAJLJ. Among his Zionist and communal activities, he served as a former President of the America Israel Chamber of Commerce in both Detroit and Chicago, a board member of the Decalogue Society of Jewish Lawyers and many other organizations.
