A Summary of the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (“CARES”) Act
March 30, 2020The Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (“CARES”) Act was recently passed in response to the COVID-19 outbreak. The Act is designed to assist businesses and individuals in withstanding many of the economic hardships brought on by the widespread impact of the coronavirus crisis. Among other things, the Act provides for potentially forgivable loans for qualifying small businesses and aid in the form of checks to individuals meeting a certain income threshold, and additionally provides for expanded unemployment compensation for those affected by COVID-19.
