Mary Patricia Keefe (“Pat”) is an Of Counsel in the firm's corporate department. She has over forty years of experience in regulatory law, with a focus on the utility industry. She brings extensive knowledge in regulatory policy, compliance, and strategy, having held leadership positions throughout her distinguished career.

Pat began her career as a hearing examiner and regulatory officer with the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities, where she gained valuable experience in regulatory matters before transitioning to Elizabethtown Gas Company in 1980. There, she quickly advanced to Vice President and General Counsel, overseeing all legal and regulatory affairs for the company. Over the years, she held multiple key roles at Elizabethtown Gas, guiding the company through significant regulatory challenges.

In 2004, Pat joined AGL Resources, where she led regulatory operations in New Jersey, Maryland, and Virginia. Following the acquisition by Southern Company, she was named Vice President of Regulatory Affairs and Business Support for the Mid-Atlantic region. In this capacity, she directed the development and execution of regulatory strategy and compliance, managing all regulatory filings and tariff matters. She retired in 2019 after Elizabethtown Gas and Elkton Gas were acquired by SJI.

Pat has held prominent leadership positions within the legal and utility sectors. She chaired the Utility Law Section of the New Jersey State Bar Association and served as Chair of the New Jersey Utility Association. In recognition of her contributions to the industry, she has received several awards, including the Mary Philbrook Award from the Women's Political Caucus of New Jersey, the James R. Lacey, Esq. Award for Distinguished Service from the New Jersey State Bar Association, and the Distinguished Service Award from the New Jersey Utility Association.

In addition to her legal practice, Pat is a dedicated community leader. She serves on the Board of Trustees for Imagine, Inc., a center for coping with loss, which provides grief support for children and families.
